Thai Massage for Babies

Online Training Course

Massage technique applied for babies from 1 month to 2 years old.

The course teaches the Thai baby massage technique, which is based on Patom Chinda’s ancient scriptures. It aims to train moms, dads, grandparents, professional caregivers in the area of health and body care and any audience interested in knowing and understanding massage techniques for babies.

It was prepared and developed by Bárbara Santos after living 6 years in Thailand and dedicating studies on Thai massage since 2012.

The online course includes 5 modules, which total approximately 1.5 hours of training through video-class. Includes a handout with images of the movements taught, so that the student can follow and practice with the baby. The student will also be able to contact the intructor Bárbara Santos through the online forum, making it possible to ask questions and make comments.

Differently from the well-known Shantala (from India), this technique does not request the use of oil, which encourages parents to deliver massage to the baby in any circumstances.

  • Access to the online course for 18 months.
  • Handout of the movements with drawings available to download.
  • Unlimited contact to the teacher by email.
  • Completion Certificate by the end of the course.

Infant massage is an excellent chain of love that unites the relationship between mother, father and child. Through the frequent practice of massages on babies, parents are able to better understand the phases of growth, understanding the development of the body, changes in behavior, phases of sleep, crying crises, anxiety and irritation. The subtle touch and affection present during the massage, allow babies to experience moments of relaxation that bring joy and comfort.

Barbara Santos has been a teacher of Thai massage and body therapies since 2012. Her interest in Thai therapies and culture led her to pursue a master’s degree in Philosophy and Religion at Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand, where she sought knowledge about Buddhist and Oriental philosophy that directly influence traditional Thai culture and therapies. During her master’s degree, she became an expert and scholar on Thai culture and tradition, writing a thesis on the Wai Khru in Thai Traditional Medicine, an ancestral ceremony practiced among the community of traditional doctors and practitioners of Thai massage.

She resided in Thailand for six years (2014-2020), where she shared her academic knowledge as a university professor at Srinakharinwirot University.

From 2011-2012, she worked as a massage therapist in Australia, working in one of the best SPA’s in Australia at the time – Keturah Day Spa, taking care of Australian celebrities. In 2013, she founded Espaço Nibbana in Brazil, an alternative therapy center focused on body and mind care. Moving to Thailand in 2014, Espaço Nibbana became NIBBANA Training Center, maintaining the brand associated with the dissemination of traditional Thai knowledge.

Since June 2020, she is living in Switzerland and providing services to the Swiss community.

It is destined to moms, dads, massage therapists, physiotherapists, doulas, midwives and any public interested in knowing and connecting with bodywork for babies.
